Why Trinity

Three reasons our clients stay.

We’re a boutique accounting practice built on long-term client relationships, offering personalised tax, accounting, and advisory services to businesses and organisations across Sydney.

  • Longevity that compounds

Twenty-three years in practice as of 2026. Same firm, same principal, same standards since 2003. Some clients have been with us almost the whole way. The work compounds, and so does the trust. Over four hundred SMSFs managed and thousands of tax returns lodged.

  • Everything under one roof

Tax, books, advisory, SMSF, Xero. One team that knows your business. No handoffs between firms, no missed details between specialists, no questions you have to answer twice. Numbers flow cleanly from books to BAS to tax return because the same people are looking at all of them.

  • We pick up the phone

We are old-fashioned about this. You get a name, a direct line, and someone who actually knows your file. We watch for trends, flag issues before they become fines, and call when something needs attention. Most clients hear from us between quarters, not just at lodgement time.

SMSF problems

An SMSF that quietly drifts away from where it should be.

You set up the fund years ago, with help from an accountant or a financial planner. The annual return shows up like clockwork. You sign it, you send it back. The fund ticks along.

Then a contribution gets coded incorrectly. A property purchase happens without the right LRBA structure. A pension transition uses a template that does not quite fit your situation. The audit raises a flag. The ATO sends a letter. Suddenly the fund you trusted needs unwinding work that should have been spotted years ago.

SMSFs are a different discipline to small business tax. Same accountant credentials, very different rules. Trinity manages over four hundred funds and the work is its own practice: structure, contribution caps, LRBA compliance, pension phase, audit defence. Done weekly, the patterns become visible. Done occasionally, small mistakes accumulate.

  • Compliance issues stack up

Late lodgements, missed audit deadlines, contribution breaches. Penalties that eat into the fund balance over time.
  • Wrong structure for the strategy

Properties bought without an LRBA in place. Pensions started before the deed was updated. Fixes that get expensive.
  • Audit anxiety every year

Annual audit looms. Trustees hand the file over and hope. Findings come back in language nobody can interpret.
  • Generalist scope, specialist rules

Accountant good at small business tax, less familiar with the rules they only touch once or twice a year.
What you actually need is a specialist who runs SMSFs every week, not an accountant who takes a few on each year.

SMSF outcomes

What four hundred funds teaches you.

Less time on admin. Cleaner records. Better decisions because the numbers are current.

  • Stay Compliant with the ATO

Eliminate the stress of meeting deadlines and regulatory requirements. Our Registered Tax Agent expertise keeps you audit-ready and protects your fund from penalties.
  • Reduce Administrative Burden

Spend less time on paperwork and compliance. We handle the heavy lifting so you can focus on what matters—your retirement and your life.
  • Expert Guidance on SMSF Strategy

Regular reviews and proactive advice on contribution strategies, investment decisions, pension phase planning, and tax-minimisation opportunities.
  • Integrated Financial Planning Approach

Through our connection to Nexus Wealth Partners Pty Ltd, you can align your SMSF with broader financial goals—property investment, mortgage strategies, and holistic wealth planning.
  • Specialist Volume

Trinity manages over four hundred SMSFs. The patterns of the work are visible because we do it every week, not once a year.
  • Audit-ready year-round

Records prepared as if the auditor were arriving tomorrow. When they actually do, the file is already in shape.

Annual cycle

Health check, setup, then annual rhythm.

Same process for every new engagement. You know what is happening and when.

  • SMSF Health Check

We review your current fund structure, compliance history, investment strategy, and retirement goals. This diagnostic identifies any risks, missed opportunities, or areas for optimisation.

    • Review trust deed, investment strategy, and current compliance
    • Audit member balances, contributions, and pension status
    • Identify gaps in documentation and structural risk
    • Confirm compliance status and remediation if needed
  • Compliance Setup & Review

Based on the health check, we establish or update your compliance framework, investment strategy document, and accounting procedures. Everything aligns with ATO requirements and your objectives.

    • Investment strategy documentation aligned with current ATO rules
    • Trust deed reviewed and updated if outdated
    • LRBA arrangements verified for compliance
    • Annual administration cycle and audit process set up
  • Ongoing Annual Management

Each year, we prepare financial statements, lodge tax returns, coordinate audits, and provide strategic reviews. You receive member reports and guidance on annual decisions.

    • Annual financial statements and tax return prepared
    • Audit coordinated with independent auditor
    • Member statements and pension reporting delivered
    • Strategy review against ATO updates and member circumstances

Trustees we work with

SMSFs we manage every week.

If you see your situation below, we have done this work before. If you do not, ask anyway.

  • Individuals establishing an SMSF

You've decided a self-managed super fund is right for your retirement, but you need expert guidance through setup, deed preparation, and the first year of compliance.
  • Existing SMSF trustees

You are managing a fund and want professional support across accounting, compliance, and strategy. The kind of partner who tells you when something is off, not just when audit comes around.
  • Trustees considering LRBA property

Your fund wants to invest in property using borrowed funds. Specialist advice on the borrowing structure, the compliance rules, and the tax implications saves you a lot of cleanup later.
  • Trustees in or near pension phase

Approaching retirement, transitioning out of accumulation, drawing down. The pension phase has its own rules and we manage the transition end-to-end.

About Trinity Accounting

A small firm by design.

Trinity Accounting Practice opened in Beverly Hills in 2003. Ramy Hanna, a registered tax agent and Fellow of three Australian accounting institutes, has run it since. The firm has stayed deliberately small, deliberately local, and deliberately senior. The principal you talk to today is the principal who will be reviewing your return next October.

Most of our work comes from referrals. Most clients have been with us for years, some for decades. We think that says more about the work than any award would.

SMSF questions

SMSF questions we hear weekly.

SMSFs are a specialty and the questions are specific. Here are the ones that come up most.

Our SMSF accounting fees are based on the complexity of your fund, number of members, and services required. Most single-member or couple SMSFs with investment properties or multiple investments fall into a mid-tier pricing band. We provide a transparent quote after your initial health check, with no hidden fees. Contact us for a personalised estimate.

Yes. We guide you through the full process: assessing whether an SMSF suits your situation, preparing trust documents, setting up accounting systems, and lodging your ATO registration. We also help you understand ongoing compliance obligations from day one.

Absolutely. LRBAs require specialist compliance management because of segregation rules, specific investment restrictions, and detailed reporting. We manage all LRBA compliance and work closely with Nexus Wealth Partners on the mortgage broking side if needed.

We manage the full transition, including member statements, commutation calculations, and compliance adjustments. Pension phase has different reporting requirements and tax implications—we ensure you’re set up correctly and provide ongoing guidance throughout retirement.

Yes. Ramy Hanna is a Registered Tax Agent (Tax Agent number [INSERT TAX AGENT NUMBER]), which means we can lodge your SMSF tax returns directly with the ATO and provide personalised tax advice. Our multi-fellow status (IPA, TIA, NTAA) reflects our expertise in tax and superannuation law.

At minimum, we recommend an annual review aligned with your financial statements and tax return. However, if you’re considering major changes—like LRBA borrowing, transitioning to pension phase, or adjusting your investment approach—a strategic review is valuable. Life changes warrant reviews too. We’re proactive in identifying when a review would benefit your fund.
