Why Trinity

Three reasons our clients stay.

We’re a boutique accounting practice built on long-term client relationships, offering personalised tax, accounting, and advisory services to businesses and organisations across Sydney.

  • Longevity that compounds

Twenty-three years in practice as of 2026. Same firm, same principal, same standards since 2003. Some clients have been with us almost the whole way. The work compounds, and so does the trust. Over four hundred SMSFs managed and thousands of tax returns lodged.

  • Everything under one roof

Tax, books, advisory, SMSF, Xero. One team that knows your business. No handoffs between firms, no missed details between specialists, no questions you have to answer twice. Numbers flow cleanly from books to BAS to tax return because the same people are looking at all of them.

  • We pick up the phone

We are old-fashioned about this. You get a name, a direct line, and someone who actually knows your file. We watch for trends, flag issues before they become fines, and call when something needs attention. Most clients hear from us between quarters, not just at lodgement time.

Common return problems

Returns lodged, with the easy questions skipped.

You handed in the receipts. The accountant lodged the return. The refund came through, or maybe it did not, and you assumed that was the right outcome.

Then a friend in a similar situation got a noticeably bigger refund. Then you noticed your novated lease was missing entirely. Then you remembered the rental property repairs nobody had asked about, and the work-related deductions a previous accountant had said ‘we will not bother with that one’ on.

Personal returns drift toward processing rather than preparation. Receipts in, numbers out. The questions that find the extra few thousand dollars only get asked when the person preparing the return is paying attention. Trinity treats personal returns as advisory work first, lodgement second.

  • Deductions missed

Novated leases, rental repairs, work-from-home, salary packaging. Claims lodged, but underclaimed.
  • Generic returns

Same template every year, same handful of categories. The return never adapts to changes in your situation.
  • ATO letters that arrive later

Something coded incorrectly, an audit query in eighteen months, a scrambled response under pressure.
  • Refund left on the table

Smaller refund than the situation warranted. Often nobody will mention it, and you would not know to ask.
What you actually need is a return prepared with every relevant question asked.

What you get

The difference senior preparation makes.

Less time on admin. Cleaner records. Better decisions because the numbers are current.

  • Every claim documented

Each deduction has a receipt, a calculation, and a working file. If the ATO asks, the answer is already in writing.
  • We ask the questions

Side income, investments, novated leases, crypto. The categories your previous accountant skipped because they did not feel like asking.
  • Audit-ready files

If a query lands, we already have the file ready. Most matters resolve in one email.
  • Lodged on your timeline

Returns lodged when they should be, not at the last minute, not late, not without your sign-off.
  • Senior preparation

Returns are prepared by senior staff with year-end review experience, not delegated to a junior. The questions that find extra deductions actually get asked.
  • Year-on-year continuity

We keep your prior return on file and use it as the starting point for the next. Changes get noticed, deductions do not get forgotten.

Return process

Three steps from receipts to your refund.

Same process for every new engagement. You know what is happening and when.

  • Discovery and document gather

We send you a checklist tailored to your situation. You upload, we follow up on the gaps.

    • Tailored checklist based on prior return and life changes
    • Secure document upload through our portal
    • Follow-up on missing items via email or text
    • Discovery call if anything looks unusual
  • Preparation and review

We prepare the return, query anything unclear, and document every claim. Nothing gets lodged without you seeing the numbers.

    • Full preparation across all income types and deductions
    • Working files attached for every claim
    • Query email if anything is missing or unclear
    • Draft return shared with you for sign-off
  • Lodgement and ATO follow-up

Sign-off, lodgement, and we handle any ATO correspondence that follows.

    • Electronic lodgement direct to the ATO
    • Confirmation and assessment summary back to you
    • ATO correspondence handled if any queries arrive
    • Refund tracked to your nominated bank account

Who we prepare returns for

People we prepare returns for.

If you see your situation below, we have done this work before. If you do not, ask anyway.

  • PAYG employees with side income

Wages plus a side hustle, rental income, or investments. Returns where the extras matter.
  • Sole traders and contractors

ABN income, business deductions, and the tax planning that keeps the sole trader structure efficient.
  • Property investors

Rental properties, capital gains, depreciation schedules, and the deductions that compound across multiple years.
  • High-income professionals

Doctors, lawyers, executives. Returns where the deduction strategy and timing actually moves the number.

About Trinity Accounting

A small firm by design.

Trinity Accounting Practice opened in Beverly Hills in 2003. Ramy Hanna, a registered tax agent and Fellow of three Australian accounting institutes, has run it since. The firm has stayed deliberately small, deliberately local, and deliberately senior. The principal you talk to today is the principal who will be reviewing your return next October.

Most of our work comes from referrals. Most clients have been with us for years, some for decades. We think that says more about the work than any award would.

Common return questions

Personal tax questions, answered.

Most people who walk through our door have the same five or six questions about their return. Here they are.

Personal returns are charged at a fixed fee based on complexity, not hourly. We quote up front, before any work starts. Most simple returns sit between $200 and $400. More complex returns with rental properties, share portfolios, or business income range higher.

If you lodge with us as a registered tax agent, you typically have until 15 May the following year. That is much later than the 31 October deadline you would face lodging yourself.

Income statements (PAYG summary), bank interest, dividend statements, rental property income and expenses, investment records, and any work-related deduction receipts. We send you a tailored checklist when we onboard you.

There are a few methods: actual costs, fixed rate, and the shortcut method. The right method depends on your situation. We work out which gives the best outcome each year.

Yes. We can amend returns up to four years back if there are legitimate deductions that were not claimed. Common cases include depreciation on investment properties and unclaimed work expenses.

The ATO requires you to keep records for five years from the date you lodge. We keep digital copies of every working file we prepare for you, so the records are always accessible.
